The base is not sturdy at all in the grass. I live in the country so we are surrounded by grass and dirt. My husband has a hard time getting in and outMy stand broke after I was swinging three teen girls in it. It just snapped. My bad. I thought it would hold the weight as they aren’t big girls at all. I’m searching for a sturdier frame.However, it also blew over almost every time we had the slightest wind storm, so it was annoying having to pick it up again.Easy to assemble, sturdy, no rust on the frame despite being left out in the Seattle spring rains for weeks now. My only slight complaint is that it's just not as comfortable as a similar hammock I once had. I can't figure out why that is. I thought there was too much tension so I added a carabiner to the end of the chains but that just made it closer to the ground. I thought other reviewers who said the same thing might just not be used to a hammock but they're spot on - this is difficult to get into and you have to stay absolutely centered when on it or suffer a spill. Maybe it's the shape of the hammock or stretch of the material. Still giving it 4 stars nonetheless as it's definitely great quality in all other aspects.Easy to put up, nicely made. Wide size feels like you aren't going to fall out. Wish it could be able to take off and put in the washer but it's tied onto the wood.I purchased this hammock and stand as a Christmas gift for my husband. As is typical of New England weather lately, it doesn't really warm up until early June. That's when we unboxed everything to learn that one of the poles was missing. The box appeared to have been opened and retaped, so it's entirely possible something happened when in transit. I contacted the seller expecting to hear that too much time passed since purchase, but instead they shipped a full replacement which was received about a week later. That says a lot about the seller in my opinion. The hammock itself is quite nice and seems sturdy enough to last for many seasons. All in all, very pleased with the purchase as well as the seller.
