This IS NOT an original Pawley’s Island hammock stand. I bought an original directly from them that works great & perfectly hangs my hammock with no need for chain. I bought this one for a different location & it requires chains. Once there is weight applied you almost end up on the ground. To hang my hammock with enough tension to handle my 160 lb weight, I have to pull the ends as tight as possible. It was $220 & the original is now $289 on Pawley’s Island website...if I had the box, I’d return this & buy the original. Don’t make the same mistake I did to save $69.After extensive research, I decided Pawley’s was the best. We decided to pay more and go for one that will last and not rip. We bought the black stand and light grey spreader hammock. It looks beautiful and my husband set it up in about 10 mins. I’ve read that people’s have lasted 10-15 years, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.We’ll packaged so there was no material damaged, easy to assemble and sturdySo easy to assemble and use! Looking forward to years of use! Plan to easily disassemble to store for the winterI've been very happy with this purchase. We don't have trees in our back yard that would work well with a hammock so I picked this up and it works wonderfully.Decent stand but for $40 more, get the Made In USA model. Had to use chains to secure my hammock which was a p.i.t.a. Not happy with the service I received after finding out this is Made in China. Read the description fully and don’t trust your prior experience with the brand name.
